Thank you for using Pleazup! We wrote this policy to help you understand what information we collect, how we use it, and what choices you have. Because we’re an internet company, some of the concepts below are a little technical, but we’ve tried our best to explain things in a simple and clear way. By using Pleazup, you agree with this policy.

We aim at provinding our users sharing gift ideas with tact and discretion. Stay relaxed then, there is no link between Pleazup and the others social networks like Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest etc.

If we want to communicate publicly on something you are related to, you would be told about it first and we won’t do it if you don’t agree.  Pleazup depends on the french law. Wherever you are, you must agree sending your data in France to use Pleazup.

 

 

What information do we collect?

We collect information several ways:

1. When you give it to us or give us permission to obtain it.

 

When you sign up for or use our services, you voluntarily give us certain information. This can include your name, profile photo, ideas, comments, suggest notifications, bookings, updates resquests, email address you used to sign up, and any other information you provide us. You can also choose to provide us with location data.

2. We also get technical information when you use our services.

 

These days, whenever you use a website, mobile application, or other Internet service, there’s certain information that almost always gets created and recorded automatically. The same is true when you use our services. Here are some of the types of information we collect:

  • Log Data. When you use Pleazup our servers automatically record information (“log data”) including information that your browser sends whenever you use the app. This log data may include the date and time of your use of the app and how you used Pleazup.
  • Device Information. In addition to log data, we may also collect information about the device you’re using Pleazup on, including what type of device it is, what operating system you’re using, device settings, unique device identifiers, and crash data. Whether we collect some or all of this information often depends on what type of device you’re using and its settings. For example, different types of information are available depending on whether you’re using an iPhone or an Android phone. To learn more about what information your device makes available to us, please also check the policies of your device manufacturer or software provider.

3. Our partners and commercials providers may share information with us.

In some cases, our partners and commercials providers may authorize us to collect information from their data. For instance :

Commercials providers usually share their data with the websites and app they’re working with to evaluate and improve the efficiency of their ads. We therefore are aware on information like the criteria used to publish targeted ad or the number of clicks some ads are generating…

 

How do we use the information we collect?

We use the information we collect to provide our services to you and make them better, develop new services, and protect Pleazup and our users. For example, we may log how often people use two different versions of a service, which can help us understand which version is better.

We also use the information we collect to:

  • Showing you ads you might be really interested in.
  • Geolocalise the ideas you post, and identify the store where you saw it. To make this service better, you previoulsy need to give us access geolocalisation data.
  • Send you updates. For example, depending on your email and mobile notification settings, you may receive updates such as friends’ notifications, pushes, newsletters (not available today)… You can decide to stop getting these updates by updating your phone settings.
  • Help your friends and contacts find you on Pleazup.
  • Help you share the app with friends and relatives. KEEP COOL, you stay 100% in control of the invitations sent to join Pleazup. We will never tell anybody that you are using Pleazup. It’s up to you to communicate (and we strongly hope that you will do so ;))
  • Respond to your questions or comments.

 

WE DO NOT SHARE YOUR PHONE NUMBER.

If we use your phone number to send you information you are related with by sms, mms, e-message… these messages would enter your usual conditions with your telephone operator. You are safe with us, we will not abuse on our behalf (message-bomb, over-taxed communications…)

Access to your photo galery will be asked to you. This will allow you to post ideas on your list or suggest ideas to your friends with pictures stored on your phone. We highly recommand you to give us access to your photo galery. It will make your Pleazup experience even more fun and respect your privacy.
The information we collect may be “personally identifiable” (meaning it can be used to specifically identify you as a unique person) or “non-personally identifiable” (meaning it can’t be used to specifically identify you). We use both types of information, and combinations of both types, as described above. We may use or store information wherever Pleazup does business, including countries outside your own.

 

What choices do you have about your information?

Our goal is to give you simple and meaningful choices over your information.

For example, you can:

  • Access and change information in your profile page at any time, choose whether each item of your profile is shared with your Pleazup friends (and only them) or not by selecting « public ».
  • Post a secret idea. You can choose to share it or keep it for yourself by selecting « only me ». You can also choose to share it with one or some of your friends. All secret ideas are tagged with a padlock symbol. You are the only one to see the padlock symbol on your ideas. You can modify the friends’ list your sharing the secret idea with whenever you like.

 

  • Close your account at any time by sending us an e-mail (contact@pleazup.com). When you close your account, we’ll deactivate it and remove your ideas from Pleazup. We may retain archived copies of your information as required by law or for legitimate business purposes (including to help address fraud and spam).

 

You may have choices available to you through the device or software you use to access Pleazup. For example:Your mobile device may provide you with choices around notifications, how and whether location, access to photo galery is shared with us…

How do we share the information we collect?

Pleazup is a tool people use to share gift ideas. When you add an idea, you choose with whom you want to share it. If you choose to share an idea with all your Pleazup friends, you do also share it with your future new Pleazup friends. The same applies to your profile items. If you make some of them public, your future new Pleazup friends will be able to see it. Then again, keep cool because you can change sharing lists of your ideas and private/public parameter of your profile items whenever you want.

 

The other limited instances where we may share your personal information include:

  • We may employ third party companies or individuals to process personal information on our behalf based on our instructions and in compliance with this Privacy Policy. For example, we may share data with a security consultant to help us get better at identifying spam or with our accountants to make sure we’re keeping the books right. In addition, some of the information we request may be collected by third party providers on our behalf. For instance, today we use Google Analytics, Mixpanel, Flurry…
  • The ads providers do usually employ third party companies to evaluate their services. We do authorize them to do so with Pleazup data.
  • If we believe that disclosure is reasonably necessary to comply with a law, regulation or legal request; to protect the safety, rights, or property of the public, any person, or Pleazup; or to detect, prevent, or otherwise address fraud, security or technical issues.
  • We may engage in a merger, acquisition, bankruptcy, dissolution, reorganization, or similar transaction or proceeding that involves the transfer of the information described in this Policy.

 

Our Policy on Children’s Information

Pleazup is not directed to children under 13. If you learn that your minor child has provided us with personal information without your consent, please contact us.(contact@pleazup.com)

 

How do we make changes to this policy?

We may change this policy from time to time, and if we do we’ll post any changes on this page. If you continue to use Pleazup after those changes are in effect, you agree to the revised policy. If the changes are significant, we may provide more prominent notice or obtain your consent as required by law.
